Mit Jaded veröffentlichen The King of Cons ihre zweite Single in 2020. Der Grundton ist dabei erneut düster, die Message des Songs: Lieber abgefuckt als angepasst! Ein Thema, dass für Künstler:innen in der Pandemie aktueller ist als jemals zuvor.

Mit derselben kompromisslosen Attitüde vertrauen The King of Cons ihrem Gespür für Pop, Hooks und Atmosphäre. Der Song vereint dabei sphärische Post-R ’n‘ B-Samples, hymnische Synthlines und knurrende 808s.

Für das DIY-Musikvideo zu Jaded machten The King of Cons aus der Not des Corona-Lockdowns kurzerhand eine Tugend: Anstatt einer aufwendigen Produktion mit großer Crew, filmte die Band das Video zu Jaded selbst – und das ausschließlich mit ihren iPhones. Das Ergebnis ist eine Mischung aus Performance, Horror-B-Movie und Skate-Video.
